Ordering and Pricing
Every instrument I build is made to order and designed around you. Here’s what to expect, from first conversation to final delivery.
How It Works
1. First consultation. After you reach out, we’ll schedule a meeting to talk through your ideas. I’ll help you choose tonewoods and a body style for the sound you want, and we’ll discuss scale length, neck width and profile, inlays and aesthetics.
2. Reserve your build. Once your design is finalized, a $500 deposit puts you on my waiting list.
3. Build begins. When your build slot comes up, a deposit of 30% starts construction. Some highly custom builds may require a larger initial deposit.
4. Completion. The remaining balance is due when your instrument is finished.
Lead times are typically 8 to 12 months, depending on my current backlog.
Pricing
Steel-string guitars from $4,000
Classical guitars from $6,000
Mandolins: A-style from $3,500, F-style from $5,000
Ukuleles from $2,500
Banjos from $2,500
The final price depends on the options you choose, and we’ll agree on it before your build is reserved. Prices don’t include shipping, handling, cases or sales tax. Interested in another instrument? Contact me to ask.
Delivery
You’re welcome to pick up your instrument at my shop in Lock Haven. I can also carefully package and ship it, or, depending on your location, deliver it in person. Shipping and delivery costs are additional.
Warranty
Every instrument carries a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner, covering defects in materials and construction. It doesn’t cover finish wear, fretboard or fret wear, or damage from improper climate control or care.
